Door Number 3 is Out
This is not a new version, it’s just a new added features to the filtering options.
Upon reading “Feedoor: I’m Going to Wait for Door Number 3″ Cyndy’s review about Feedoor on profy we started on updating Feedoor filtering tools and I’m glad that door number 3 is out = No more waiting
With the new options you can filter posts according to specific keywords in Title, Description and author tags
You can add unlimited filtering rules for each feed, so you are not restricted to one filter
The new Filters use regex, so you can “block or show” posts that met “any or all” of the following options if it “contains or doesn’t contain” some keyword.
Even better, the new filtering system built with an instant update in mind, meaning, if you feel these filtering options lack some thing just let us know what you want exactly to be filtered and we will add it for you immediately.
Now while we were working on the Filtering feature, we came across a great service for filtering feeds called “AideRSS” and because of their great API we could add a new feature for filtering posts according to AideRSS PostRank system too.
Note: Since Feedoor has a mixing feature “mix many feeds in one” we thought it would be better to add the filtering options and AideRSS PostRank feature for each feed separately.

Thanks for adding us to the mix!
To throw another wrinkle into things, now that we’ve introduced Thematic PostRank, in Google Reader (if you use it…) we still apply Feed-based PostRank scores to every item in an individual feed. But now we also apply Thematic PostRank when you’re viewing at a folder level, and all feeds in the folder are ranked using their engagement performance against each other.

Ahh! Ok, I’m dense – completely didn’t clue in to the new stuff.
Ilya just walked me through the Feedoor integration. Cool! I get it now. Love the flexibility of the filtering level being either pre-set (e.g. “Good”) or PostRank score.
Will definitely add this to our Mashups page!

Hey Melanie, thanks for stopping by and for your comments, I guess this post will get the highest PostRank now
Here’s our scenario of using AideRSS PostRank system, instead of letting feed readers filter the content of the feed they are reading, publishers now can filter their feeds and provide readers with a ready “worth the read” content
Thanks again for the great service and for your offer to feature feedoor in your Mashups page it’s a real pleasure.
