This time we acted pretty fast and rolled a new feature to make it easy for you to connect your feed with google buzz, yes, it’s neat and simple, check our silde show tutorial below on how to do this.

Some notes on why to use Feedoor

  • You have a feed and want to connect with your Buzz account, the super easy way.
  • Merge many feeds and add all to your Buzz at once, don’t repeat the process :)
  • Since Feedoor supports both real-time protocols RSScloud and Pubsubhubbub you can get your feed instantly updated in your buzz time line no matter what protocol it’s using, this also includes all blogs hosted on wordpress.com
  • Since we convert any Feed to a real time feed with the help of superfeedr “real time feed parsing service” you can get your feed posts in your buzz time line almost instantly, this is really good if your feed does’t support any real time protocol.

And Now for the slide show “How to connect your feed with google BUZZ”

Feedoor Enables Realtime Feed to Any Website or Bloghttp://feedoor.com/track/feed/30f7b4b814b5c1acdb1fbcf9de4b74b8We are happy to announce that Feedoor is now fully supporting real-time by implementing both real-time protocols, RssCloud and Pubsubhubbub.

Thanks to Superfeedr the realtime feed parsing service which made hard things easy, we could implement “real time” in “no time” :)

Now, and as a member of Feedoor, you can enable real-time for any feed in your account, even if that feed does not have a real-time protocol.

How Real-time “really” works?

Real-Time is “push” not “poll”, meaning, in order to make your feed “Real-Time” it has to push new posts. Instead of polling your feed every “x” minutes to check for new posts/data, Real-time aware clients and applications will subscribe to your feed and wait contents to be pushed to them when ever your feed has a new post.

How Feedoor’s Real-time Works?

If you’re managing a feed with Feedoor and that feed is already implementing RssCloud or PubSubHubBub protocol then Feedoor waits for a notification to be pushed from your original feed when it has a new content, once it’s notified, feedoor goes on and notifies back those who subscribed to your feed and pings another 17 well known feed services.

But what if your feed doesn’t implement RssCloud or Pubsubhubbub?

In this case your feed will not be able to notify Feedoor of new contents, so we need to poll your feed frequently and check for new posts, when Feedoor detects a new post it will ping feed services and real-time clients/applications. Your feed still can be converted to “near” real-time even if doesn’t implement a real-time protocols.

When the web started to go main stream back in the 1990s, there was a lot of buzz about real-time, but that vision was not accomplished until recently. Today Feedoor joins the real-time club and enables that vision to any website and blog.

Stay tuned for more great features to empower your feed.

Door Number 3 is Outhttp://feedoor.com/track/feed/5f4405aa611947518b9f8e642cf03ccfThis is not a new version, it’s just a new added features to the filtering options.

Upon reading “Feedoor: I’m Going to Wait for Door Number 3″ Cyndy’s review about Feedoor on profy we started on updating Feedoor filtering tools and I’m glad that door number 3 is out = No more waiting ;)

With the new options you can filter posts according to specific keywords in Title, Description and author tags

You can add unlimited filtering rules for each feed, so you are not restricted to one filter

The new Filters use regex, so you can “block or show” posts that met “any or all” of the following options if it “contains or doesn’t contain” some keyword.

Even better, the new filtering system built with an instant update in mind, meaning, if you feel these filtering options lack some thing just let us know what you want exactly to be filtered and we will add it for you immediately.

Now while we were working on the Filtering feature, we came across a great service for filtering feeds called “AideRSS” and because of their great API we could add a new feature for filtering posts according to AideRSS PostRank system too.

Note: Since Feedoor has a mixing feature “mix many feeds in one” we thought it would be better to add the filtering options and AideRSS PostRank feature for each feed separately.

5 ways to use Feedoor.. and more!http://feedoor.com/track/feed/6105729cd22737c139a026270536012dYou may think feedoor is another normal feed management service, but according to us, feedoor represents the ultimate feed tool for all your feeds needs and here are some ways on how to use Feedoor.

1- Manage your feed:

It’s a great chance that you have a feed, and if you don’t have a feed for your online business or even personal publications then I suggest you to get one immediately. So you have a feed but you are really not a feed savvy and want another party to take care of your feed, well, feedoor can do that for you, we will display your feed in the best format, wrap it in a stylish theme, give you easy publishing tools, provide your visitors with easy subscription tools and record every hit your feed receives, by the way, it’s a good thing to know who’s visiting your feed and how many subscribers you have.

2-Manage your feed(S):

Yes, this time with the BIG “S”, it’s not only you can create many feeds, you can also combine many feeds in one, maybe you have more than one feed and want to put them all in one, this is easy with feedoor, you can merge multi feeds with different feed formats in one feed, and feedoor will do the hard job to examine your posts and arrange them according to the publishing date, wait a minute, you can also filter each feed, let’s say you want only last 5 post from feed “x” to be added, or even posts with some keyword, really,no problem.

3- Create your own single items:

Now if you don’t have a feed or your feed lack some post and you want to add that one single post, again, no problem, feedoor allows you to create single posts, just select “Item title” from the dropdown menu, write your mew item’s title and go through the wizard, Tara.. you have a new single post lying between your original feeds posts

4- Create a combination of your social feeds:

Now let’s take feedoor usage to another level, let’s say that you have many social networking accounts and want your friends to be notified with all of these activities at once, simple, create a feedoor feed and combine all your social feeds in one feed and give it away to your friends and visitors.

5- Aggregate your favorite feeds:

Combine your favorite feeds in one feed and add to your feed reader, instead of reading every feed separately. How about that?

hope this article gave you some useful ways to use feedoor, really there are many ways you can use our service and we even adding new ways all the time.

New Featureshttp://feedoor.com/track/feed/5bf8c390bcd21c4c08523fb15c18dcc1Yes, new features on their way the next coming days.

How this will impact your account?

No significant changes to the members area, you will not lose your way inside the members area, it’s the same easy to use members area you’re familiar with, but you will meet some new buttons for the new features.

For your Feed’s theme, a new improved theme system has been developed so you will notice a change in your feed’s theme, this new themes system allows you to edit your theme with more flexibility or creating your own theme, think of wordpress, our new themes system is pretty much like wordpress themes.

We will also move data centers, so how this will affect your Feed?

Nothing to mention, your feed will stay functional unlike members area which will go off line for some hours, all this will take place at the time of changing data centers and for some hours only as we will try our best to get things done very fast.

On the other hand, this will affect your feed positively by improving it’s performance and you can do new great things with your feed :)

Hope you all will like the new features

Feed Speedhttp://feedoor.com/track/feed/a5c7e85ea2de3ad9ff7876b778f95eaaFor faster feed load I made a couple of changes:

1- Omitted all javascripts from HTML version of the feed and created my own “prototype.js” hack to reduce the size and the loading time

2- Bookmark widget will open in a new window instead of loading it in the parent feed page

These changes will reduce HTTP requests plus the size of the page it self, happy faster load :)

Feedoor Deliveryhttp://feedoor.com/track/feed/c1bbdf71e126287b2fc4ebe0a1c7ebeaWOW! I’m so excited to announce the new launch of Feedoor.com (BETA) Feed service.

After more than 4 months of the hard none stop working on this project and about one month of self testing and fixing, I finally decided to release the BETA version of Feedoor.com servic.

For those who are familiar with other feed services, you may notice some similarity with Feedburner.com service, well, I will not deny that as I really love Feedburner and greatly affected by their service, hope my site reputation will be something near feedburner ;)

For the next few months Feedoor will stay in the BETA phase until I finally get everything running just perfectly, in the mean while I really appreciate any Feedback, suggestion, comment or even any help :)

Finally I want to thank you all and of course don’t forget to open an account with Feedoor :)

Have a nice day/night.
